As a fan of the farmers markets, it's no surprise that at any given moment, I'm always down to go check them out.  Being a southern California resident, we are incredibly fortunate to have mild weather which makes for extended seasons of crops and produces beautiful, tasty fruits and veggie.  Plus, shopping locally helps the community, keeps things more sustainable, and eating organically is a healthier option for us all.

With many farmers markets around the Los Angeles County region, I decided to congregate a list of some I check out, as a resource for friends and others to turn to and enjoy the outdoors:

SUNDAYS

Hollywood @ Ivar Ave. + Selma Ave. from 8am - 1pm

About 160 farmers, producers, and food artisans that will have you picking up more than you came for.  Live music and activities to get you grinning even more.  Rain or shine.

Mar Vista @ Grand View Blvd. + Venice Blvd. from 9am - 2pm

Rain or shine, except major holidays.

Santa Monica @ 2640 Main St. from 9:30am - 1pm

Stroll along Main Street and stop by here for brunch from one of the many food vendors and enjoy some live music.

Located at Plummer Park's north parking lot and open most holidays.

Special finds: Brazilian brigadeiros (like bonbons) here as well as malasadas (Hawaiian style donuts) that are made to order

In the heart of downtown Culver City, good for people who only have the evenings available.
